Brooklyn, NY – Student-athletes have the opportunity to showcase their talents on the field at various football combines. On May 19, 2019, the Future Phenom Showcase was back at the Erasmus High School Football Field.
The purpose of this showcase is to gather all the talented young high school football athletes to give them the opportunity to be recruited by colleges.
The man behind the showcase, Coach Mouse the DB coordinator for Erasmus High School football decided to create a platform for student-athletes who are the best all-around to get exposure in their recruiting process.
Coach Mouse and 30 of his coaches along with high school football media analyst come together to teach the boys, coach the boys and mentor them so they can perform not only on the field but in their academic studies.
All the coaches play a part in the development of these amazing students. They come from various backgrounds and all over the states. Coaches from Florida, New Jersey, Long Island, Ohio, you name it came out to help elevate the boys.
“This year we have grown to 170 participants, 30 coaches and a list of media that we are so privileged to have,” said Coach Mouse.
The coaches are hard on the athletes but only to help build their self-esteem up with what they practice every day.
The talent is handpicked by Coach Mouse and that is why it is by invite only.
Coach Mouse stated, “these are D1 students who have already received offers from colleges and if they all didn’t receive yet will be noticed by the end of this showcase due to the media analyst that was there”.

I spent many years on jobs that made a better life for my family. I realized though when life changed for me, I was in search for my purpose.
Hi, my name is Shani Hannah and I am a 44-year-old wife, mother and college student in pursuit of my master’s degree. Currently I am a new media journalism major. I love to write and express my thoughts and views on certain life situations pertaining to education and the community. Recently I had the opportunity to take on a project for a not for project organization named Safe Halls to write their blogs for them. I am excited to take on this project because it gives me the opportunity to share stories on another site.
As you start to evolve into your purpose things start lining up for you. My love for writing and my concern for today’s youth and education has pushed me into new opportunities. As I am starting on my early childhood journey as a teacher aide, I am delving more into the educational issues that plague our children today. Of course, I will talk about schools within my area and district as well as research outside of my community. I not only want to give my sentiments, but I want to also give direct information to keep parents informed, educators, and possibly any authoritative figures who are concerned with the learning curriculum for early childhood, PreK-12 and college students.
This blog is very personal to me because I get to open up about information that a lot of people just might not pay attention to. We have to stay more grounded and involved with what’s happening because education has drastically changed even since I was a little girl. The more you know the better off you are. My hope is that you will gain insight on what is going on in the educational realm along with the community.
Please feel free to comment and share your thoughts let’s talk…
